I just ran up2date to take my kernel from 2.4.20-6 to 2.4.20-28.9. and when I rebooted it comes up ok in text mode, but hangs after 'startx'. I looked for a directory of updates to see if I could get a prior version, but can't find it.have you checked your logs for any error messages?
I'm running an AMD 1.4g cpu on a Shuttle AK32 motherboard.
