OT: open web mail

I have a machine running open web mail (version 1.8.1). I have noticed that when composing emails, the email recipient always has a blank subject field, even though the subject was filled in when the message was written. The subject field remains intact when the message is copied to the sent folder, but it is not there when it reaches the destination.

However, in the body of the text, there is a subject line, but if I do 'view all headers' there is no subject entry. Below is an example of the body of a test email.

To: scbranch@xxxxxxxxxx

Subject: this is a subject test

Date: Mon, 5 Jan 2004 10:03:56 -0500
Message-Id: <20040105150356.M75359@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
X-Mailer: Open WebMail 1.81 20021127
X-OriginatingIP: 129.33.49.251 (ronin)
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

this is a subject test

Is this an issue with open web mail, or simply a configuration problem? I have search the web and some open web mail forums, but did not see anything on this.
