hehe.. Found a way.. or rather 2 ways...

1st.. you can try running xkill which will come out with the "skull'

or

2nd.. In Gnome.. I don't know about KDE, there is an applet which is called
'force quit' which will do the exact same thing as xkill..

NOw I'm happy... no more xterm's kill -9 `pidof app`
