Mailman send out digests based on passed time and size of the digest:
1. No mail, no digest. ;-)))
2. If more than 24 hours have elapsed or the digest size of the
accumulated mails exceeds X kB (standard: 40 kB, configurable by the
list administrator), whatever happens first, a digest is sent.

A one-day digest is not available, but you can download the complete raw
archive in mbox-format (importable by most mail readers).
