Does the ppp setup tool or script you used to setup ppp allow you to run a firewall script after ppp starts? Somewhere in your /etc/ppp/[scripts] the firewall (iptables) would have to initiated. Hey, since you changed net.ipv4.ip_forward =1 did you restart network? service network restart or perhaps this needs to be started with the firewall script when using dialup?
