I compiled my kernel recently and install it with the #make install a
new directory /lib/modules/2.4.20-8custom is generated, but the
strange thing is that there are no any file in
/lib/modules/2.4.20-8custom/kernel? Why there are so many files in
/lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel which should be generated during my
installing linux, but none in /lib/modules/2.4.20-8custom/kernel?
Perhaps you did not "make modules_install"? Documentation exists for the kernel build process... You know what to do.
