I hope this is the right list to ask.
I'm brand new to Linux. I bought a TigerDirect dedicated Linux box with RH62 a while ago, but I just got time to work with it. I installed Red Hat 9, clean, but the installation reports an error in the USB area.
I'm getting "USB HC TakeOver failed!"
A couple of weeks of searching and reading has not gotten me any closer to understanding what's wrong or how to fix it.
I've tried switching from ohci to uhci, but I got the same error message, and, from what I read, I think the SiS 7001 controller is an ohci device.
Can anyone suggest what's wrong?
Based on some of the messages I've read, below are some system facts that may help diagnose the cause.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ralph Kenyon
