Install some chinese fonts :-)

I would guess that you need the ttfonts-zh_CN RPM, but there may well be other as well.

Some CJK (China/Japan/Korea) web sites publish their pages with a suitable character set but don't bother to have the character set in the header -- RH9 then, no unreasonably, assumes that it's the default: ISO-8859-1. Mozilla, fortunately, lets you choose a character set for precisely this reason: look for "character coding" on the "view" menu. If you choose "auto detect" and "chinese" things may well work for you.
