Why would you do that. The original ones work just fine. I do not know where
your packages came from but this is the latest package for 9:

(sylvester pts0) # rpm -q openssh-clients
openssh-clients-3.5p1-11
(sylvester pts0) #

It has the programs you are looking for:

(sylvester pts0) # rpm -qf /usr/bin/sftp
openssh-clients-3.5p1-11
(sylvester pts0) # rpm -qf /usr/bin/scp
openssh-clients-3.5p1-11
(sylvester pts0) #

In the correct package for the distro. In this case openssh-clients-3.5p1-11.
