hi, thanks all you guys helping me out off this subject!

Actually, the solution is to just copy the
/usr/share/doc/dhcp-*.conf-example  to /etc/
then  touch /var/lib/dhcp/dhcp.leases

Nothing.   There isn't a default configuration file.   There's an

example in /usr/share/doc/dhcp-* which you can use as the basis
for a 
configuration file.   Well, that's what I did anyway.
