Recommended Publisher App?

I need to install a desktop publishing app for work that can produce 
output that high-end printers and ads firms will accept, something like 
Pagemaker.

I'd like the same app to run on both my Shrike notebook and my Win98 
(not my choice) desktop.

I have seen Scribus online and recall there was at least one other, but 
I do not believe that either offered a fully functional M$-friendly version.

Any experiences out there with linux-friendly apps?
