RE: starting services everytime the redhat boots

I'd be running the imap-2001 that comes, by default, with RHL9, and which 
is set up to run via xinetd, rather than as a memory resident daemon.

Again, as I said below:

"Assuming you installed the imap that came on the CDs, you shouldn't have 
an "imap" file in /etc/init.d, anyhow.  There should be one in 
/etc/xinetd.d."
