I am currently using Outlook to get my email from the LInux Box via POP3 protocol. I understand this isn't secure. Can anyone here help me out with some links or pointers on how to configure secure POP3 mail? perhaps through a SSH tunnel or something?? Maybe a Secure POP3 port? (If there is one)
Some POP3 servers support POP3 over SSL, or TLS. Courier-IMAP (a part of Courier-MTA which you can use by itself, or with the whole suite) supports both of these, as well as IMAP over SSL and TLS.
