AGP is the slot for the card vs. a PCI slot. AGP slots differ in speed like a DVD-R, AGP 1x, 2X, 4x and 8x. Make sure the card you buy matches the speed of your AGP slot. PNY is a manufacturer, they usually make the cables which come with the cards (e.g. DVI splitter cables, DVI -> analog, etc). PNY OEMs the NVidia cards, as does IBM. -----Original Message----- From: shrike-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:shrike-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Globe Trotter Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2003 12:12 PM To: shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Suggestions for a good graphics card for RH9/Fedora? > > > I can't say really -- I used my machine for normal things like mail, > editing, compiling -- 32Mb was fine; the 64Mb appeared faster but it was > a newer, faster chipset. No, I am not into games -- I have plans to make movies of brain function eventually.....By the way, I notice a lot of letters with GeForce4, etc with difference prices (such as AGP, PNY, et al). What are these for? Within the GeForce4, are there better and worse cards depending on these letters?:-) > > -- > Shrike-list mailing list > Shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/shrike-list __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
