Hello,

I was just wondering, when in a https session and you click on a file link does the download get encrypted or not?

i.e. https://www.yoursite.com = secure
http file downoad of https://www.yoursite.com/file1.exe which prompts for download to local hard drive. secure or not?

If the link on which you click is an HTTP link, it does not get encrypted. If the link is a HTTPS link, it does get encrypted.

It is not automatic... just because the _last_ page you visited was encrypted does not in any way imply that the _next_ one will be as well. Part of the stateless nature of the HTTP protocol: you get whatever you ask for in _this_ request... anything that happened in the past is irrelevant.
