Rocky,
a 6-in-1 is alittle more difficult than the single usb. apparently most linux distros are not configured for this 'out of the box' so you might have to recompile your kernel for multiple "Lun" (see /proc/scsi/scsi)

before going that far, try this from the command line: max_scsi_luns=3DN

then try mounting your 6-in-1 reader. insert a couple cards and check /var/log/messages for the status. then try mounting the individual slots as /dev/sdX1, /dev/sdX2, /dev/sdX3, etc... if this works, add max_scsi_luns=3DN to /etc/rc.d/rc.local so it loads everytime you boot up.

if that doesnt work, you may have to recompile the kernel and set CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN to max.

cameron

Hello Cameron,

I have a 6-in-1 card reader in my 3.5" drive bay. Here is what
/proc/scsi/scsi says about it.

Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: SPRING Model: MultiCard Slot A Rev: 0100
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

How do i mount the individual slots? I've been scratching m head on this one since I've bought it 6 months ago...

Thanks for any help you can give...
