Most often it's because you're audio output is set to the harddrive, IE you've got xmms set to re-encode whatever you play, instead of playing it out the soundcard. CHeck your XMMS settings for output device.




Yes, the output was set to disk... but now after having set it to OSS (which is the alternative in that point) the XMMS starts hanging when I start playing...
