Anybody knows how to tell to syslog to swith a log file. We have
developed an application that sends logs to syslog ( the application is
GPL, of course :D ) but i'm interested in force switch log every night. Any
tips? Man sysllog.conf don't show anything :

"man syslogd" shows something though :-)

More usefully, "man logrotate" suggests that adding "daily" to the /etc/logrotate.d/syslog will do the trick. You might want to change it slightly so that /var/log/messages is rotated daily and the others are left as weekly.
