Isn't there any way to get it to compare it to the md5 file provided by the
author. It's kinda hard for me to compare like 20+ chracters on a 1400x1050
resolution.. (read: eye - strain)

:)

Of course there must be a shell script way but I'm lazy (read : Don't know
how.)

I would run

  rpm -Kv foo.bar.rpm
