I missed a detail. When I boot from the KRUD CD it asks if the Root is on hda2 or hdb3. The LABEL text above is for hdb3 because hda2 produces nothing. hda3 is the old RH8 hdd, not the new RH9 one I am trying to fix. At this point I think it is time for me to just wipe the RH9 hdd and do a fresh install.
