Hey Trotter:
    I did what you suggested BIOS power mgmt off and I left Linux alone and
it
ran for 4 1/2 hours no locks, no freezes - it seems like it worked.
    How did you test that it finally worked?  What convinced you?
Did you leave your system on all night?
