Possible bug with LDAP and AutoFS

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

If you are running the automounter with the maps stored in a LDAP server
(both running on the same host) then it fails to start properly on
reboot.

The problem seems to be that the automounter needs to be able to query
the LDAP server when it starts, but the default runlevel 3 starts the
autofs system, then the ldap server:

$ ls /etc/rc3.d/
...
S28autofs
S39ldap
...

Once the system is up you need to restart autofs for the automounter to
work properly:

# /sbin/service autofs restart
Stopping automount: [FAILED]
Starting automount: [ OK ]

Do other people see this as well? Worth a bugzilla entry?

Keith.
