I do not like S.u.S.E.'s attitude and way they handle things. This starts with them being incompatible with anything else *on purpose* (looks like they were forced to move many things over to LSB recently). I remember years ago when I was searching for the distro that suits me best, it was even impossible to compile and install a vanilla Linus kernel - you had to wait for S.u.S.E. to provide a patched kernel! Software they release usually isn't GPLed, their packages are too bleeding-edge for my needs (they included reiserfs as regular install-time filesystem option while it still had *very serious* problems including data loss), and I think they'll go for a proprietary solution (with the hope to bind users to them) whenever they'll get the chance. So I could just stay with Microsoft... This is my personal feeling about S.u.S.E., and of course others may feel differently. To get the long time of updates support I need, the cost of S.u.S.E. Linux is about the same as RHEL, so if I had the money I would use RHEL because it would suit my needs better.
