here is the catch : 1. get rid of the old one ( rpm -e up2date-3.1.23.1-5 ) 2. have both up2date-3.1.23.2........rpm and up2date-gnome-3.1.23.2.......rpm 3. rpm -iv up2date-* - it worked for me last week ; having up2date-* specified, lets rpm figure out the dependencies among the 'to-be-installed' packages. regards, -ionut- baldwinets@lycos. com To: shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx Sent by: cc: shrike-list-admin Subject: Re: new up2date won't install @redhat.com 09/30/2003 04:42 PM Please respond to shrike-list Does this make any sense to you? I understand that the new up2date is apparently conflicting with the old one, so, in accordance with the actual command given at RHN, I tried to force the install, but the result, as you can see, was unexpected. Should I remove the old up2date and then try rpm -ivh the new one? Should I -force --nodeps?
