smp kernel question

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,
Two computational intensive processes running at the same time each get
greater than 99% of the cpu, according to the top program. I only have a
single processor but I use the smp kernel as the cpu supports
hyperthreading. Does this mean that a single process can only use half
the cpu? Might it be better to not use the smp kernel in this case?
  Thanks for any info,
    Richard
