Modprbe & missing modules on Custom Kernel 2.4.22-rc2-ac2

Hi All,

If someone could shed some light, would be appreciated.

I tried compiling my own kernel to get acpi to work on my dell D600 laptop.

I keep getting these errors and I'm not sure where to look.

(error messages are "Something" like this since I don't have my laptop with
me right now)
modprobe : Cannot locate module cp45???.nls
modprobe : Cannot locate module iso8859-a.nls

then there's also iptables-restore line 20 [Failed]

In the kernel config, i've already put in iso8859 to be compiled into the
kernel. I can't remember but I'm not sure if I put the rest of the codepages
compiled as modules or NOT at all.

There's also complains about UTF8 characters.

I have lots of kernel messages, of which I presume that they're harmless(??)

Help??

Thanks

Cheers,
