Hello, I have a compress file I need to edit under linux. The problem is uncompressed the file is > 2G. I have tried uncompressing it in a jfs file system and a reiser file system but the 2G limit remains.
Both of those filesystems should support large files, but perhaps your uncompress program does not. It would have had to be compiled with the appropriate compiler flags to support LARGEFILE. How are you trying to uncompress the file? Did you get the program as part of the Red Hat Linux distribution?
