Burning ISO images (was: Re: libpng.so is needed by... but I already installed libpng)

Don't "decompress" them. That's *the* mistake. An .iso file is an
image (i.e. a raw copy) of a CD file-system and must be burnt directly
onto a CD.

Examine your favourite disc burning utility closely for the option to
"burn an image". Don't extract the files within the image. Don't
construct a new image from the contents of the ISO images. 

Via Google you should find instructions on how to burn ISO images.
E.g. I think www.linuxiso.org have a FAQ online.

And don't hijack mailing-list threads. Compose a new message to the list,
and set a proper subject line. What you did is a definite "No!".
