Prior to my upgrade to RH9 from RH7.3, I had a screen-shooter applet that could not only grab the whole desktop, but also grab a specific window or a defined area. It was screen-shooter applet 1.4.0.5 written by Tom Gilbert. It was very useful for demonstrations. Now the RH9 gnome screen-shooter only grabs the whole screen. The same is true with ksnapshot. There were a number of old applets that I like much better than the current ones: the cpu/mem usage applet 1.4.0.5 by Radek Doulik and CD Player Applet 1.4.0.5 by Miguel de Icaza and Federico Mena. I don't know how things could regress instead of improve. Where can I get the old applets?
