Gnome bugs/problems

Hello everyone.
I use GNOME 2.2.0 out of the box and found some bugs.

1) I try to make a new mime-type or assign an icon to the existing one. Nothing changes.
Nautilus displays only standart "blank sheets" instead of an icon.
Preferences > File types and Programs > Add file type.../Edit...

2) There are two ways to add your own application to the "RedHat startup menu".
	a) Right click on the menu, choose "Entire menu > Add new item to this menu".
The "Create Launcher"-window appearsm where I try to add a new launcher. When I
click on the <OK> button, error appears - "Cannot save menu item to disk. Details:
Error writing file 'applications:/<Menu item>/<Application>.desktop': Unsupported
	operation".
	b) "Start Here > Applications > Menu item > Right click New item". Nothing happens.

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Greetings, Alex Khroustalev
