Yes it is. By default, nautilus is set to manage the desktop. When you
run it with no arguments as a different user, that user's desktop will
"take over". To prevent this, run "nautilus --nodesktop &" instead of
"nautilus &" when running it as a different user than the one you're
currently logged in as.
