Of course, two X sessions on the workstation, one of which is connected
remotely to the Server, would do the job very simply and cleanly.
"control-alt-8" and "control-alt-7" make the switch nicely. Of course,
you DO need to learn enough to fiddle the system to bring up the two
X sessions on different TTYs. I sweat some blood making that work nicely
on 6.2 some (long) time ago. Things changed. The technique stopped
working. And I have not yet gotten a round tuit in the job queue.

I mention it because for some people merely knowing it can be done
leads then to the solution. (For others not knowing it cannot be done
leads to the solution, as in my case on this issue with 6.2. {^_-})
