Why has gdm gone crazy?

I received a message that my disk has filled up. When I looked in
/var/log/gdm I found that for the last two days the :0.log file and
:0.log.1 file were filled with messages like this:

AUDIT: Mon Aug 11 12:26:31 2003: 10756 X: client 2 rejected from local
host
AUDIT: Mon Aug 11 12:26:31 2003: 10756 X: client 2 rejected from local
host
AUDIT: Mon Aug 11 12:26:31 2003: 10756 X: client 2 rejected from local
host
AUDIT: Mon Aug 11 12:26:31 2003: 10756 X: client 3 rejected from local
host
AUDIT: Mon Aug 11 12:26:31 2003: 10756 X: client 3 rejected from local
host

Can any one tell me where to look for what has gone wrong and how to
fix it?
