OK, no one answered this question (I guess I got caught in the SCO-Redhat Novell-Ximian crossfire -- isn't inadvertent "messing up" of threads more benign than "messing up" of the group?), but my sysadmin says that Grub does not work well with Raid so I should use Lilo. I did use it and there was no problem. So, Grub does not work well with RAID -- is this it?
