1394 troubles...

I have an ADS 1394/USB2.0 enclosure with a 160G Maxtor hard drive in it. When I first plugged it in a few days ago it worked perfectly and have been using it heavily since then.

Today I rebooted the server to replace a DVD-ROM drive and upon reboot the 1394 enclosure was not recognized any more. Kudzu asked me to confirm the addition of an ADS-SCSI interface which I did. However it still didn't work.

I rebooted again with the 1394 enclosure unplugged. After it was done booting I plugged the enclosure back in and viola, it works fine!!!

Why won't it work if it's plugged it at boot time???
