When I've finished installing the 120 Gb drive I got for my b/d I'll have a good old delve. My biggest problem will be that I don't know what situation creates this backend process in the first place, so I can't yet trigger the problem at will in order to investigate it.
The only thing I know is that it's the 'init.d/cupsd stop' that never terminates when the problem exists.
