I installed mplayer and all its hundred components, so maybe it was related to that? I also upgraded to Mozilla 1.4, but am not quite sure of the timing. I changed /etc/modules.conf to be: alias eth0 dmfe alias usb-controller usb-uhci alias sound-service-1-0 off alias sound-slot-1 off alias char-major-13-0 off alias sound-service-0-3 off alias sound-slot-0 cmpci post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 || : pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1 || : I looked on google and found a few references, but nothing that would seem to help. Everything seems to be working, so I guess it is OK to: alias char-major-13-0 off alias sound-service-0-3 off -- Shrike-list mailing list Shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/shrike-list
