I recently changed the settings of my desktop settings a little. I mean I changed the background, removed the redhat 9 menu panel, put a new gnome menu panel, and add a floating panel. After letting a few hours pass, I come back to turn on my computer, and when I do gnome it does not work. The gnome menu panel's still there, however, the only thing that is recognizable is the foot-print icon from the menu panel. However, all those changes where made only to my regular user account and not root. When I log in as root, with all default seetings, everything is just fine. This is the first time that RH9 has really acted up on me. I am currently with 2.4.18-9, and it has work like a charm until now. I would really appreciate it if anybody had any suggestions... I might even be willing to try a new version of linux (i.e. Gentoo, Mandrake ...) cheers, gonzo -- ______________________________________________ http://www.linuxmail.org/ Now with e-mail forwarding for only US$5.95/yr Powered by Outblaze -- Shrike-list mailing list Shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/shrike-list
