I would like to "burn" a CD but get the following error messages and I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this problem. Can anyone suggest what to do next? I have used the CD drive for writing to disks in another RH-9 computer and it worked well but can't seem to get things configured properly now.

# cdrecord -v speed=16 dev=1,5,0 -data ioware-w32-x86-402.exe.iso
If you have a working GUI. I have tried using xcdroaster to configure my cd burner. When I initially ran setup. It had the wrong information for the burner. I deleted the wrong information and added the correct information, which was on the pull down menu for devices, along with the incorrect setup. After that setup was completed and running without hdx=ide-scsi within the boot loader, the cd burned sucessfully.
I'm not really familiar with the numbers that you gave for the scsidev - My numbers were something like -2, -2, -2 through scanbus - but I forgot what the values were exactly.
Is this saying that your device is on the second IDE controller and is the 5th device? What is the lun parameter?
Sorry to add confusion, but hopefully you can figure it out from here.
Amazingly, my cdburner was /dev/scd2. also my reader was configured as /dev/scd1.
My guess would be that you need /dev/sg5 linked to your /dev/cdburner symlink.
