I'm connecting to the ISP erratically/intermittently and see the following error message when I do tail /var/log/messages when it does connect - Jul 28 09:13:03 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: assuming ppp0 is already up Jul 28 09:13:07 localhost modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module ppp-compress-21 Jul 28 09:13:07 localhost modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module ppp-compress-21 I did a google search and see that this is not a new problem and recompiling the kernel seems to have been suggested back with RH-7.3. Naturally I'm looking for a simpler way out or perhaps the error message is of no consequence, not related to my intermittent connect proble? Any information or help appreciated. Thanks.
