that's a big 10-4

normally you only need to edit...

/etc/atalk/AppleVolumes.default

if you use this machine as a firewall...you wouldn't normally want the
apple protocols accessible from the public ip where you would put only
the appropriate interface in /etc/atalk/atalkd.conf

a modprobe of appletalk is pointless - appletalk is modular and loaded
when needed.
service atalk start|stop|restart after you get the configuration
changes.
