I see; but that is done in the hom directories of the individual users. I'd prefer to have a common program run right any user logs in, without having to alter the home directory of any user.
You might want to put a script to start the prog. in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d then. If it's a full-on GNOME app. or something you may have to bug in a sleep to ensure that the WM's started up first, etc.
