final observations on 2.6 kernel, CD-RW and ide-scsi emulation

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

  from a reliable source, if all you're doing is using SCSI emulation
to burn CDs with cdrecord, you should drop the idea and just start
using the IDE interface directly:

  # cdrecord dev=/dev/hdX -inq # just to check
  # cdrecord dev=/dev/hdX whatever.iso

the SCSI emulation feature is deprecated, so there's little point
in hanging on to it.

  and it's not at all clear what the point of the "ATAPI:"
notation was, but you can forget that as well. unless someone
else has reasons to the contrary.
