Out of curiosity, where did you get the apt package you're using!? I
definitely don't know any version of apt using pythonlib, and really wonder
how that got listed there...
I got the package from Internet sometime ago
# rpm -qa|grep apt apt-0.3.19cnc55-fr8
That apt is built for an older version of rpm, and was broken when you upgraded to shrike. Get a current version, such as:
rpm -Uvh \ http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrpms/redhat/9/apt/apt-0.5.5cnc6-fr1.i386.rpm
PS: for future reference, it's faster to use "rpm -q apt".
