Actually, it is in the persective of Red Hat release cycles. Postfix 2.0 was officially released Dec 22 2002. Red Hat Linux: Phoebe (which was the beta release for Red Hat Linux 9) was released Dec 23 2002, which means it was frozen at least a couple of days prior to allow the mirrors to get it.
