I also wanted to get a nForce2 recently, but decided to stay away from
it as it requires binary drivers not only for video, but for network
too! ( so you cannot even perform network installs ).

Also, the sound goes in Linux as i810, therefore not taking advantage of
the chipset features.

If you don't need all the 3D features of nVidia, try an Intel 845g mATX.
