Are you sure about that? I would assume your machine is at least an i586 or i686. In that case you would need the i586 or i686 glibc package from the i686 directory. Else you will break your package upgrade like these people: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=88456 > So im downloading glib-common... > > Then i try this one... > > [root@xxx upload]# rpm -Uvh gd-2.0.12-2.i386.rpm > warning: gd-2.0.12-2.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 897da07a > error: Failed dependencies: > libgd.so.1.8 is needed by (installed) php-4.2.2-17.2 > libgd.so.1.8 is needed by (installed) webalizer-2.01_10-11 > > Im not sure how to interpret that...what needs what and what is the > (installed) part? > > ps. ---> NEWBIE! See output of: rpm --query php webalizer gd You have packages installed which depend on the libgd.so.1.8 as included within the gd-1.8.4-11 from Red Hat Linux 9. You cannot upgrade that package to a much newer version of GD because that would remove the installed version and break the dependencies of the other programs. - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/EmIq0iMVcrivHFQRAvY9AJ9Fa0Egiy8CZbnxIxf+3dVlUIPuFACdGPV9 wklafXbUpCs6XWH4NBVQiUo= =lRrH -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Shrike-list mailing list Shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/shrike-list
