Our trick was.. export DISPLAY=some.unsecured.xterm:0 import -window root root.jpg xv root.jpg ... and then... "hey... my xterm is frozen! No matter what I click on nothing happens." People usually understood it was in their own best interest not to leave their terminal setup such that anyone could see what they were doing. Never did figure out how to have xv not open up the tools window if someone right clicked though... :?
