Update to the latest kernel from RedHat using up2date and your woes should
go away. Mind did with my Linksys v3.0 on my Compaq Armada M700 once I did
this.

I ran up2date, and now have the updated kernel.
Unfortunately I still have the same problem. Every 2-3 minutes, I need to take my eth1 down and back up in order to keep my wireless link running.

What do I have set wrong?
If I need a more Linux friendly wifi card, what is best?

I have an Orinoco Silver wireless card that has worked very well with many Linux distros in the past. However, I started having problems with the 2.4.20-9 kernel and continued to have problems with the 2.4.20-13 kernel. I get lots of transmission errors like this:

          RX packets:458 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:499 errors:171 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100

It works much better with the original kernel 2.4.20-6, but still is not as good as the 2.4.18 series. Not quite sure why things are getting worse.

Best Regards,
Keith
