This is pretty much the same thing we were trying to do. All hell broke loose when we installed RH9. Little things that we never had problems with started breaking. IMO, RH9 is not ready, (and may never be) for prime time server usage. As other threads on this list have mentioned, 7.3 was their last _rocksolid_ server platform. Everything since then has been to try to compete on the desktop, not the server area.

I am taking RH9 off of this server and putting 7.3 on (it was 7.2) and upgrading only the things we _must_ have.
